the::unwired writes, Back in December last year, Google announced plans to drop Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) support for Google Calendar and Contacts which was so far used by Windows Phone users to keep their devices in sync with Google services and the original deadline Google gave Microsoft for implementing CalDAV and CardDAV was January 30, 2013. Later, Google expanded this deadline to August 1, 2014 which means it's today. From that point, it was said that consumers won't be able to set up new devices using Google Sync; however, existing Google Sync connections were said to continue to function. Now, The Verge?
